Youth workshops
Creative workshops for youth organisations
Bad Lay-Dee’s music and poetry workshops have also successfully been delivered in partnership with Music Education Islington (MEI), alongside other youth clubs and organisations. The workshops are designed to suit different age groups and learning abilities and can also be tailored toward the needs of the youth organisation to focus on different key themes.
“Dee has a really inspiring, natural and open way of communicating with the young people – being completely authentic throughout the session. Donna really skilfully walks the line between making things safe and accessible while encouraging young people to raise their game and strive for their best. Donna offered lots of inspiring ideas and accessible ways to approach the creative tasks.
A lot of the students mentioned your workshop as something they enjoyed in the reflective circle we held at the end of the day. One pupil wrote to her teacher to say how much she had enjoyed your session and she was inspired to stand up and perform her own spoken word piece in our open mic session at camp!!!!! (It was amazing!!!)” – Jessie Maryon Davies, Music Director, Girls Rock London
The workshops are designed to encourage children and young people to work together and learn from each other. All of the sessions are structured in an accessible way to give every young person taking part, the opportunity to build self-confidence and find their voice.
